I am a computational linguist and technical video editor.
My main interests are:
Geography and Language Variation: language variation in continuous geo-space (with geographical coordinates): dialects, diglossias, urbanity and mobility.
Building tools for video editors and VFX artists: especially plugins and online tools to simplify workflows, using NLP methods and LLMs
NLP and Semitic Languages: I study Arabic and Hebrew and want to build NLP tools for these great languages, that are not only underresourced, but also structurally very different from English (e.g. root morphology).
Language Variation and Machine Learning: How should we change language model architectures and tokenizers to better model language variation?
